Comments: The Lee was named for Robert E. Lee, general of the the Confederate forces during the Civil War. This watch was introduced in conjunction with the Grant model thereby granting equal representation to both the North and the South.
The Lee was introduced in 1933 in a Wadsworth 10K yellow gold-filled case containing the 17-jewel 987 movement. In 1934, the Lee was offered in a 14K gold-filled case and choice of the 19-jewel 979 movement or the 17-jewel 987 movement.
14K gold-filled Lee's are considerably rarer than the 10K gold-filled version and those containing the 979 movement are even more scarce.
