The Norfolk is unique in regard to its utilization of an oval shaped
movement that was commonly used in Hamilton women's watches - the
18/0 sized, 989 17 jewel movement.
Interestingly, the Norfolk sold for a
slight premium to other 10K gold filled Hamiltons of the time and
since the movement was designed as a women's watch movement, does
not have a sub-second hand.
The Norfolk was not a popular watch
when introduced in 1936 and subsequently, was manufactured for only
one year.
