Comments: The Piping Rock is one of three enamel bezeled watches produced by Hamilton - the Coronado and the Spur were the other two.
The Piping Rock is arguably the most famous wrist watch manufactured by Hamilton. It was very popular when introduced and, along with the Meadowbrook, was the first to utilize Hamilton's famous 979 19-jewel movement.
After a sixteen year hiatus, Hamilton reintroduced the Piping Rock in 1948. This revised version is distinguished by its usage of a 17-jewel 747 Hamilton movement, improved hinges and lack of numerals in the sub second dial.
